Hello, my name is Venetia Cursive. Most people just call me V, except for my house elf, who calls me Miss V. I graduated from Hogwarts in '06 and now I am living in muggle Manhattan because I have an internship with "The Avalonian" (Daddy says that apartments in wizarding Manhattan are too expensive).
When I'm not running errands for the big shots at "The Avalonian", I write and I hang out in Washington Square Park, pretty bland, I know... But there are a lot of muggle magicians there and it's pretty amusing to watch them perform. My nightlife is pretty low-key as well. I don't really party too much. I'm not against drinking (Bulgarian Dragon is my favourite drink, actually) but I don't do crazy things like roll on Cheering Charms or snort unicorn horn powder.
Even though the internship pays me in leprechaun gold, I don't have to find extra work. Daddy's set me up with my own Gringotts account, with a big enough pile of galleons for me to survive off of. Of course, this means that I can't go on shopping sprees like I used to... no more Prada Kedavra bags... no more Guccio dresses, no more Spella McCartney outfits... But, oh well, my mum says that this experience will help build character. I hope she's right.
*This introductory post is all in good fun. :P Please comment to be added. I am horrible with my f*list and I won't know if you've added me unless you specifically let me know.

Even with a certain impending doom (the LSATs--ackwtfwtf!!) looming ahead in my near future, I'm working on three rather large fandom projects. I thought I'd keep you guys up to date. ;P
1. The City in Flames (TCiF): an AU (canon up to OotP) Millicent Bulstrode-centric fic that I've been mulling over since 2006. I know, I know, that's a hella long time to be working on one fic. But this is my baby and I'd rather take my time than do a half-assed job.
2. Ginny 100: I'm doing a set of 100 fics (or drabbles) for
100quills. I signed up waaaay back in the days but haven't had the guts to buckle down until now.
3. The Sixth Year: this was a small ten-chapter fic I wrote in 2006. It was the inspiration for the now-abandoned RPG
thesnakepit. I was going through my old notebooks for TCiF things when I found character drafts and such for 'The Sixth Year' (which was called 'The Emerald Club' back then--in hindsight, that sounds like a seedy "gentlemen's club" or a casino rewards program). The drafts are not all terrible, and I love me my Slytherins, so why not?
And now you are all caught up.

Scratch what I wrote below.
mustntgetmy is totally right regarding InsaneJournal: that smiley is terrifying.
I am coming back around to fandom. What I decided a few bleary-eyed nights ago still sounds like a good idea. Sure, the scenery has changed a bit (has it really been 2+ years since I left?), and sure, HP fandom drama gets exhausting, but I was never the sort of person to let fandom eclipse my real life... So I think I'm in the clear.
A bit of housekeeping:
-this is a fandom journal. This means I will only talk about HP + fandom related events here. If you don't want your f*list filled with drabbles and HP babble, please don't add/remove me. I really, really will not be offended.
-all of my fan fiction will be archived at my FF.net account. There will be things put up on LJ, but most everything I write will be at FF.net.
-as far as you know, my name is Venetia Cursive.

Like most everyone else in fandom has already done, I'm moving over to an InsaneJournal account. See you guys on the other side. :)
